The Bali Bully Rescue Team
Karin Karner
After 12 years in Bali, Karin is now known as the Bali Bully lady. She was previously a designer from Austria but after 4 years in Bali she started taking care of dogs in need with a large number of them being pitbulls which Karin has loved since she was 6 years old. For the last 3 years she has specialized in rescuing this breed because of the high numbers needing rescue and the negative reputation they have.
Karin’s team is small and hand-picked. The veterinary services from Central Vet are critical and then Karin works closely with 2 professionals in Bali depending on each bullies needs. Rhonda for dog behaviour issues and Marcel for training. Both share Karin’s passion to make sure every single bully receives the care and treatment they need before being declared fit for fostering or adoption.
Karin is committed to building and running the first Bully Rescue Centre in Bali which will help her to manage the growing number of bullies every year needing care.
Rhonda
Rhonda is originally from America and has lived in Bali for the last 20 years. She is a dog behaviourist, working with dog behaviour to understand how dogs learn and what motivates our bullies.
She teaches obedience, respect, controlling over-excitement, behaving well at home, walking on the lead nicely, getting along with humans and other dogs and controlling excess barking.
Rhona is certified by the International Association of Canine Professionals, IACP, (www.canineprofessionals.com) and also trained by Cesar Millan (www.cesarsway.com) amongst others. She follows these methods as she truly believes in working with Mother Nature and not against her.
The money Rhonda makes goes towards feeding the 50+ dogs she cares for. She also runs a small charity to help beach/street dogs and low income families with their pets in the Nusa Dua area and has many beautiful puppies and dogs available for adoption (please see: www.balijetsetpetz.com).
